THE BEST FEEL GOOD MOMENTS FROM TGNS
Obviously COVID 19 is an enormous challenge but there are several issues that have existed for too long. In the trenches still too many artists are expected to pay for little or free. Many artists have no stability and face many situations that many people could not endure. Many artists give up their Art because they cannot afford to give up their day job. Many artists do not even have a day job and end up on benefits. Mental health is a global problem. I find that it is staggering that in 2021 we have to convince some individuals who have control of the purse strings we still need to justify the arts. We don't need any more lawyers, we don't need any more politicians and we certainly do not need any more bankers.
“We all know by now the power of arts to transform and inspire people, to help heal and recover; to provoke and change perspectives; to move society on; to make education and information accessible; to increase mental health & recovery; to build confidence and self-esteem in people previously excluded; to increase communication and understanding; to celebrate diversity and increase inclusive practice; to rejuvenate, motivate and connect people. Thank goodness people know this. Thank goodness people understand the value of investing in the arts for a healthier, happier society. ” K Marshall 2012
